StandUnitedSA – Against Gender-Based Violence

TRSS, a security company based in Fourways, Johannesburg, together with TRSS Reaction, Mrs Personality Megon Schutte and her husband Ryno Schutte, have launched an imperative campaign called #StandUnitedSA.

StandUnitedSA carries the main objective to unite all South Africans against the currently unrestrained gender-based violence.

As a Security Company, we will ensure the following:

  • Guards at estates and complexes have been trained to identify domestic incidents and launch emergency calls via our control room or online platform;
  • SAPS, EMA and Social Services will be dispatched, depending on the severity of the situation;
  • Create safe zones within our geographical footprint for the general public

As our Nation entered into it’s 2nd week of lockdown, Police Minister Bheki Cele announced on Thursday 2nd April that there have been about 87,000 cases of gender-based violence (GBV) during lockdown alone, according to the Citizen.

Violence against women has become more than a national crisis.” – President Cyril Rhamaphosa

Mariska Kinnear, the Executive Security Specialist at Tactical Guarding said, “At Tactical Guarding, our aim is to protect our clients from criminals. We have extended this journey of ours to protect women who are abused either physically or emotionally. We want these women to know that they are not alone. A call to us means no judgement and complete support in a vulnerable time.”

Let us all work together to keep our women and children safe.
